"With change, comes hope"

About Me
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. My family is of West Indian (Indo-Caribbean) descent, specifically from Trinidad and Guyana. For my undergraduate degree, I studied neuroscience at the University of Miami where I subsequently conducted research in cognitive psychology and mindfulness. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in social work so that I can more directly work with communities and group that have not traditionally been open to or offered mental health counseling.
In 2017, I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Throughout educational and professional opportunities, I have had the honor of working with persons experiencing homelessness, financial insecurity, debilitating medical conditions, chronic mental illness, acute grief, substance abuse, relationship concerns, domestic abuse, major life changes, transitions after military service, and exclusion due to social identities.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my passions are to promote mental health awareness, increase accessibility to mental health services, and support marginalized communities - especially first-generation immigrant groups and those of West-Indian descent.
